Charity Football Tournament for Helen & Douglas House
A number of our SCG businesses came together to take part in GHM’s annual Charity Football Tournament. GHM has held this tournament since 2023; this year’s event raised a whopping £4,148.50 for Helen & Douglas House, bringing their total fundraising amount close to an incredible £20,000.
Helen & Douglas House is a registered charity caring for terminally ill babies, children, and young people. The charity provides medical, emotional and practical support, helping families deal with the implications of living with a child who will die prematurely, ensuring they can make the most of their time together.
Thank you to everybody who played, donated prizes, supported and organised Friday’s tournament. It was great to be there and meet so many businesses raising so much money for Helen & Douglas House. £3,900 could fund a bed at Helen & Douglas House for a week, so you’ve raised even more than that – an amazing achievement.

Cuppa For Cancer Care
Hope for Tomorrow is a mobile cancer care charity in the UK, dedicated to designing, building, and maintaining mobile cancer units that enable patients to minimise the inconvenience of travelling during their treatment. On average, patients save 884 miles of travel each year by visiting a mobile unit for their cancer care instead of travelling to a hospital.
Offices across SCG participate in the annual Cuppa for Cancer Care event to raise funds and awareness for Hope for Tomorrow. Cuppa for Cancer Care is Hope for Tomorrow’s flagship fundraising initiative, where organisations and individuals hold coffee, tea, and cake mornings for their peers. This event encourages donations and opens up conversations about the incredible work that Hope for Tomorrow does.
60@60
In January 2025, SCG celebrated its 60th anniversary. To mark this milestone, we set a goal to support 60 charitable causes throughout the year, an initiative we called 60@60.
All 10 business units across the UK and South Africa participated and worked hard to reach this target. This effort not only united the SCG community but also positively impacted over 60 charitable organisations.
- LDN London Dragon Boat Race 2025 – We helped raise an incredible total of £13,000 for Family Services.
- Christmas Jumper Day – Nothing brings us together more than swapping out our usual workwear for our festive favourites, and doing our bit for Save the Children. Supporting children in the UK and around the world by keeping them safe, healthy and learning.
- We held Cuppa for Cancer Care events across SCG, raising money for Hope for Tomorrow, the mobile cancer care charity.
- One of our employees completed a 10K Twilight Walk raising money for the Brain Tumour Charity.
- All our offices celebrated Wear It Green Day for Mental Health Awareness.
- We took part in a five-a-side football tournament, raising money for Helen & Douglas House, a charity supporting terminally ill children.
- Our sheep Woolly Wonka took part in the Frampton Family Sheep Race, racing for the James Hopkins Trust, a charity providing respite care for young children and babies with life-limiting or life-threatening conditions.

Employee engagement
After launching our ‘60@60’ initiative, SCG wanted to encourage as many employees to collectively engage in 60 charity initiatives throughout the year. We reached the target and will continue to encourage employees and business units to get involved with as many charities as they can.
SCG’s CSR
By supporting different charities, entirely employee-nominated, Shine enables us to elevate the success of these events and then highlight these accomplishments to the Group to increase momentum further.
